Wedding season is drawing to a close for 2016 and I’ve *nearly* finished all my orders, about 12 more pieces to make! Here are a few snaps of some of the gorgeous made to order bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses & kimonos which I’ve created this year; lots of pretty guipiere lace and blush tones, my favourites! X
Wow! Look at this gorgeous wedding! The beautiful bride has very kindly shared her wedding photos with me, I love them! I keep getting wedding envy when my clients show me their beautiful days, I think me & Mr A will have to do it all again one day!
Such beautiful, personal touches to this wedding (sylvanian family cake toppers with mini bunting is just SO adorable!) and a stunning venue making the perfect backdrop.
The bride has chosen for her bridesmaid dresses my full circle chiffon ‘Belle’ dresses in soft colours: dusky pink, sage green, slate grey & soft blue, with two bodices in guipiere lace. My absolute favourite is the soft blue with the little cap sleeves, sooo pretty!
I just love the bride’s wedding dress! This isn’t from This Modern Love but I’m so taken with it – I’ve always fancied designing a full circle lace dress and this has inspired me!
The bride was an absolute delight to work with and I’m so happy to have made the bridesmaid dresses for this gorgeous occasion Xxx

Here’s my new collection for 2016, lots of nude and soft neutrals with beautiful, beautiful guipiere lace. So pleased with these photos! Modelled by the beautiful Kate from Brighton. Take a peek at my updated website here: http://www.thismodernlovebridal.com
I’ve pulled together a few moodboards for my 2016 collection, compiling images of beautiful things that inspire me. I still love the vintage silhouette of 50’s prom dresses with petticoats, as well as the slinky silhouettes of the 70’s and I’ve teamed this with my favourite colour palettes at the moment; lemon yellows and blush pinks.
I’ve also taken inspiration from powerful women from history and mythology, and have let these images influence my designs. And you can’t have a bridal moodboard without flowers! Hydrangeas and gypsophilas will always be my favourite, they were my wedding flowers, but I really really love freesias right now! Also included a few vintage brides, I’d love to style a shoot one day with these 1920s waves and lace veils, so gorgeous.
Here’s some of the dresses I’ve made over 2014/15, sadly the beautiful French corded lace featured in some of these designs is no more! My supplier just can’t seem to get hold of it… But excitingly I’m working with lots of gorgeous guipiere lace for my 2015/16 collection. These are all bespoke dresses made to order for clients’ weddings – can’t wait to see the wedding photos!
I’m now fully booked with bespoke orders for the summer, lots more making to do!
Discovered some lovely fabric-y finds in Brighton today at the North Laines. There’s a brilliant fabric shop called Ditto with the nicest prints! Really lovely stuff, I think I will be in there a lot. The lovely owner recommended some sewing classes too which I’m definitely going to check out to meet other dressmakers!
Also went to Snooper’s Attic – this place is awesome! Bought some lovely Sanderson fabric and completely fell in love with the jewellery and headdresses upstairs.
Spent the rest of the day gorging on tea and cake with Mr A at the Pelican cafe, happy days!
I made these super pretty dresses for a lovely bride last year for her October wedding, and these are her beautiful wedding photos which she has very kindly shared with me.
What a gorgeous day!! I love all the gorgeous styling details of this wedding – wonderful bouquets & floral displays, delicious cakes and a vintage bicycle, just perfect!!!
The beautiful bride wore a custom made This Modern Love bridal gown – made in ivory lace raschel with a puddle train and low back design, and her adorable bridesmaids wore This Modern Love full length blush pink chiffon gowns with guipiere lace bodices. I’m so, so proud! I love seeing photos from my brides’ special day, this makes me so happy xxx
I’m holding two little ‘pop up’ events this spring for customers who would like to view the sample dresses and fabrics in person – I’ve just sent out the invites to everyone who asked to come along, do get in touch if you’d like to take a look! (email@example.com)
The sample dresses from the website will be available to try on as well as a sample sale of unique designs. It’s also a chance to see the range of fabrics, have your measurements taken & discuss your design ideas…
Looking forward to meeting you!
A lovely bride got in touch this week with some beautiful photos from her wedding! I made these sage green chiffon bridesmaid dresses with cross over cream lace bodices and little cap sleeves. So elegant, gorgeous photos! Love the beautiful peonie bouquets as well – the soft pink and the sage green are so pretty together xxxx
